Osiris Temple #67 is a subordinate temple of the Ancient Egyptian Arabic Order Noble of the Mystic Shrine, Inc., Prince Hall Affiliate (PHA). The temple is dedicated to fellowship, service, and philanthropy. Rooted in the principles of compassion and brotherhood, the temple brings together members committed to making a positive impact in their community. Through charitable outreach, community engagement, and support of Shriner initiatives, Osiris Temple No. 67 strives to improve lives while fostering unity, leadership, and a spirit of service among its members.
Osiris Temple No. 67 has a long and exciting history. It was first chartered in Daytona Beach, Florida, on August 5, 1914, under the leadership of the Imperial Deputy of the Desert, John H. Dickerson (8), who was also serving as Grand Master of the Most Worshipful Union Grand Lodge of Florida at the time. During the creation of Osiris Temple No. 67 and for decades thereafter, many Nobles who lived in Melbourne traveled twice a month to Daytona Beach to attend meetings and the temple thrived.
Unfortunately, due to members aging and infirmity membership began to decline, and Osiris Temple No 67 eventually became nonfunctional. Men from Melbourne who were interested in becoming Shriners traveled to Orlando, Florida, and joined Malta Temple No. 149. The numbers of Nobles from who Malta Temple grew significantly. Several members to include HPIP Carl Finerson, HPIP Walter E. West, and HPIP Marvin V. Richardson served as Potentates of Malta Temple.
A request was made to establish a Shrine Club in Melbourne. This request was granted in 1994 by the Imperial Deputy of the Desert, Charles Gullatt. The club was named the Manzil Shrine Club and experienced tremendous growth. Manzil Shrine Club aggressively supported both Malta Temple and the local Brevard County community.
In 1997 a request was submitted and approved to reestablish Osiris Temple No. 67 of Daytona Beach and relocating it to Melbourne. Past Potentate Enoch Mobley was elected as the first Illustrious Potentate of the reactivated temple. To date, Osiris Temple No. 67 has remained steadfast and unmovable in its pursuit of excellence, striving to be one of the finest Temples in the Domain. The Temple has earned numerous Desert of Florida and Imperial Council awards for its dedication and service to the organization and the community at large. Osiris Temple No. 67 continues the traditions that has been established and upheld since 1914: RIDE ON!
